What We Can’t Investigate
Some types of noise fall outside of what the law defines as a statutory nuisance. These include:- General children’s noise (e.g., playing)
- Shouting, screaming, or loud talking
- Everyday domestic sounds (e.g., footsteps, doors closing)
- Car stereos from moving vehicles
- Poor sound insulation in buildings
- Reasonable commercial or business activity noise
