Fylde Council launched a proactive inspection programme in March 2022 to improve housing standards in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). HMOs often house vulnerable tenants and carry higher risks of fire and overcrowding. There are an estimated 530 HMOs in Fylde, with around 800 units in St Annes alone.
