Fylde Council has announced the appointment of seven new trustees to oversee the Lytham Institute charity, ensuring its continued growth as a hub for education, recreation, and cultural enrichment. The appointments follow a public recruitment process aimed at bringing a diverse range of skills and experience to the organisation’s governance.
The newly appointed trustees include professionals from sectors such as multinational business leadership, finance, governance, healthcare, communications, heritage, and arts and leisure. Each trustee brings a wealth of expertise that will help shape the future of the Lytham Institute, ensuring it continues to serve the local community effectively.
The Lytham Institute charity is dedicated to enhancing the lives of local residents by providing facilities and activities that support social welfare, education, and leisure. The strengthened trustee board will focus on developing sustainable strategies, increasing community engagement, and ensuring the Institute remains a valuable resource for generations to come.
In addition to the trustee appointments, Fylde Council will also nominate an elected member to act as its representative at trustee meetings. This role will help maintain a close working relationship between the council and the charity, ensuring alignment with its charitable objectives.
Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council, said: “The appointment of these trustees marks an exciting new chapter for the Lytham Institute. Their combined expertise will be invaluable in developing the charity and enhancing the services it provides for the local community. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of their leadership in the years ahead.”
The next steps will include formalising the trustees’ registration with the Charity Commission, providing induction and training, and holding an initial trustee meeting to begin shaping the Institute’s future direction.
