Fylde finalists are vying for gold in the 2023 Active Lancashire Sports Awards.

Organised by Active Lancashire and Local Authorities from across the county, the awards celebrate sporting achievements, community initiatives and wellness in the workplace.

Formerly known as the Lancashire Sports Awards, the event pays tribute to those that show dedication to performing at the highest level, regardless of their age. It also highlights individuals, clubs and businesses who work tirelessly to support their local community and create an environment where people can thrive.

Almost all of Fylde’s shortlist are award winners from the Fylde Active Community Awards in September and will be competing with entrants from across Lancashire in numerous hotly contested categories.

Cllr Chris Dixon, Fylde Council’s Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, said: “It’s tremendously exciting to see such talented and dedicated people representing Fylde in the Active Lancashire Awards finals. Each of them gives so much to their local communities and it’s wonderful to see them recognised for their contributions.”

Cllr Jayne Nixon, Fylde Council’s Lead Member for Tourism, Leisure & Culture, added: “Whether or not our finalists come away with an award, they’re already champions for their commitment and fantastic attitudes. Every one of them should be proud of their achievements, and we wish them the very best of luck!”

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at Ewood Park, Blackburn, BB2 4JF on Friday 17 November.
