Fylde Council is delighted to announce the return of its popular Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme for the Easter school holiday period.

Funded by the Department of Education, the initiative offers free holiday club places for eligible school-aged children who receive benefits-related free school meals. The programme also provides limited places for secondary-aged children through the Targeted Youth Service.

The Easter programme features a diverse range of activities including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures and games, all designed to keep children active and engaged throughout the holiday period. A free lunch and selection of fruit and snacks are also available throughout the day.

Councillor Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, commented: “We’re thrilled to expand our HAF programme for Easter 2025, which continues to be a lifeline for many families across Fylde. This year, we’ve increased both the range of activities and nutritional offerings based on feedback from previous participants. Our goal is not just to provide fun activities and meals, but to create an enriching experiences that support children’s physical and mental wellbeing during the school break while easing pressure on household budgets.”

Eligible families will receive their HAF vouchers on Friday 14 March when the booking system goes live. Parents who believe they qualify but haven’t received a voucher should contact their child’s school directly.
