If you carry out any of the following treatments, you must be registered with the Council under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982:

  • Acupuncture
  • Tattooing
  • Ear Piercing
  • Body Piercing
  • Electrolysis

Who Needs to Register

Both the practitioner (the person performing the treatment) and the premises where the treatment takes place must be registered with the Council before any procedures are carried out.

Initially, the premises must be licensed along with at least one practitioner. Once this registration is in place, additional practitioners can apply for a personal licence to operate from that registered premises.

This requirement applies to all individuals and businesses offering these treatments, whether operating from a fixed location, mobile unit, or visiting clients in their homes.

How to Apply

To apply for registration, you will need to complete the relevant application form and pay the applicable fee.

The same form and fee apply for both personal and premises licences. The current fee is £184.

Once you have completed your application, you can submit it in one of the following ways:

  • By email: Send your completed form to licensing@fylde.gov.uk. A member of the Licensing Team will contact you to arrange payment.
  • In person: Submit your form and make payment at the Town Hall reception.

After we receive your application and payment, we will contact you to arrange an inspection of the premises.
