Exceptional progress is being made across the borough this year, with an impressive 80% of ambitious Corporate Plan commitments successfully progressed or completed despite facing significant pressures.

The Corporate Plan directly benefits residents through five key areas: delivering quality services, protecting the environment, boosting local business opportunities, keeping communities safe and enhancing Fylde as a fantastic destination.

Out of 52 major projects designed to enhance the community, an outstanding 42 have been progressed or completed as of September 2025, even while navigating complex challenges including Local Government Reorganisation, staff transitions and growing service demands.

Achievements include the completion of Phase 1 of the St Annes Masterplan, which will transform community gatherings with its refurbished Square, while businesses have flourished through the successful delivery of Fylde’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund programme, supporting local enterprises with vital resources.

Families experiencing housing difficulties now have access to 32 additional temporary accommodation units through partnerships with organisations like the YMCA, while the Council’s Community Hub, established in January 2024, supports our brilliant volunteers and community groups. Environmental achievements include the completed Beach Management Plan protecting our stunning coastline, ongoing dune management projects strengthening sea defences, and the establishment of the Fylde Technical Water Bathing Group working to improve water quality.

Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council, said: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved for our communities during such a challenging period. This progress shows our absolute dedication to delivering for Fylde residents, even when facing significant pressures. Our commitment to serving our community remains as strong as ever.”
