Alternatively there are two ways which you can determine if planning permission is needed, through the council:
You can use the self assessment forms below, which are based on the information you have about the proposal (no fee);
Or
You can submit a lawful development certificate (£264 for proposed works / £528 for retrospective) which allows you to be certain that the existing development is lawful for planning purposes or that your proposal does not require planning permission.
