  • Vaccine Van Returns 10th, 11th and 17th January

The NHS mobile vaccination van will be returning to Fylde over the next two weeks to offer booster jabs to anyone eligible, along with the first and second doses for those yet to be fully vaccinated.

No appointment is necessary. Everyone aged 12 and over can get a 1st and 2nd dose of the vaccine. A booster dose is available for everyone aged 18 and over, and some people aged 16 and over, who have had 2 doses of the vaccine at least 3 months ago.

Combined with the recommendation that face coverings should be worn in classrooms, this presents the strongest possible defence against Omicron and other variants as children return to school.

Cllr Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council, said: “As we welcome the bright new possibilities of 2022, we must remember the hard-earned lessons of 2021: get tested, get vaccinated, and get boosted. We have come so far together, and while variants such as Omicron pose a new threat, we know that they can be overcome.

“Coronavirus infections have risen to unprecedented levels in the last few weeks, and as our children go back to classes it is more important than ever to ensure that all of us are as protected as can be. I would urge anyone who has yet to receive their first, second, or booster jabs to attend a walk-in session or book an appointment as soon as possible.”

The van will be available at the following dates and locations next week:

  • Monday 10 January – ‘The Coach and Horses’ Car Park, Preston Old Road, Freckleton, PR4 1PD – 12pm to 7pm.
  • Tuesday 11 January – North Promenade Car Park, St Annes, FY8 2LZ – 12pm to 7pm.
  • Monday 17 January – Staining Community Centre, Chain Lane, Staining, FY3 0DD – 12pm to 7pm

If you are unable to attend these drop-in sessions, you can still book a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or booster dose online here: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
