We aim to deliver excellent services on behalf of all the communities we serve and seek to continually review, challenge and improve how we deliver those services.

In 2022, the council invited the Planning Advisory Service (PAS) to carry out a ‘Peer Review’ of its planning service.  In October 2023 an action plan that seeks to delver the recommendations that came from that review was adopted by the Executive Committee.  The council’s Internal Affairs Scrutiny Committee has been asked to monitor the delivery of the action plan.

You can view the Peer Challenge report and the Action plan produced to deliver its recommendations below.

On 21 November 2023, the council’s Internal Affairs Scrutiny Committee received a report setting out the progress made to date in delivering the agreed Planning Peer Review Action Plan.

The covering report is available here, with the monitoring schedule itself available here.
