Collection points

Real Christmas trees can be taken to one of the temporary collection points from Tuesday 4 January 2022 to Thursday 13 January 2022, don’t forget to remove tree skirts, bases and all decorations before dropping off. Please ensure your real Christmas trees are left inside the designated barriered area at one of the following sites:

  • Coastguard Station, North Beach Car Park, Lytham St Annes
  • Lytham Station Car Park
  • Rawstorne Sport Centre Car Park, Bush Lane, Freckleton
  • Elswick Village Hall Car Park, Roseacre Road, Elswick
  • William Segar Hodgson Car Park, Coronation Road, Kirkham

Real Christmas trees collected by Trinity Hospice or taken to one of the designated collection points will be planted on St Annes beach as part of the ongoing sand dunes restoration project.  The trees help to reduce erosion of the dunes which provide a unique habitat for many plants and animals and also act as a soft sea defence for the local community.

The Christmas tree planting event will take place at North Beach Car Park, St Annes, from Wednesday 9 February to Friday 11 February 2022. Volunteers are always welcome – just turn up on the day.

Green Bin collection

We can collect your real Christmas tree in the green bin, if you are subscribed to this year’s garden waste collection service.  Simply chop up your tree, place it in the green bin (ensuring the lid is closed) and this will be collected for recycling on your scheduled collection day.

Household Waste Recycling Centre

Real Christmas trees can be recycled at the tip on Saltcotes Road in Lytham, the opening times are 9am to 5pm seven days per week. The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
