Fylde Council has released a draft of its Corporate Plan for 2024-2028 and is seeking public feedback. The plan outlines the council’s vision and strategic commitments for the borough over the next four years.

Fylde Council’s vision is “For Fylde to be a place where people choose to live, work and raise a family, retire and feel safe, visit and want to return.” To deliver on this vision, the draft plan includes five key strategic commitments:

  1. Quality Services
  2. Clean and Green Environment
  3. Vibrant and Healthy Economy
  4. Safe and Caring Community
  5. A Great Place to Visit

The draft Corporate Plan outlines various initiatives. These include completing the Beach Hub and enhancing beach accessibility, improving lighting and signage in St Annes Square, reviewing the Fylde Local Plan, installing more Changing Places toilets, refurbishing the Long Gallery at Lytham Hall, upgrading town centre CCTV, and delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Investment Plan, among other projects.

Additionally, the plan addresses how Fylde will improve the efficiency and accessibility of its services for all residents.

Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of the Council said: “Our plan for the next four years includes manifesto commitments and priorities raised during the local election campaign last year. We want to deliver the very best for our council taxpayers and will work across all tiers of government to achieve this goal.”

The public consultation on the draft Corporate Plan will be open until 9th June 2024. Residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to provide their feedback, which will help refine the objectives before the plan is approved by the full Council in July.
