New Fylde Mayor Cheryl Little has taken up the role of first citizen of Fylde in a ceremony held Wednesday 24 May 2023.
The representative for newly established Carnegie Ward was officially installed as successor to former Councillor Ben Aitken at the Annual Meeting of the Council, held at Lowther Pavilion.
Councillor Little spoke emotionally of her pride in being able to tirelessly serve the residents of Fylde since her election in 2007, and of her gratitude for the opportunity to continue doing so as Mayor.
The new Mayor declared that her chosen charities for her term of office would be Lytham Hall and World Horse Welfare Penny Farm.
The Annual Meeting also welcomed the new Mayoral Team and the return of Councillor Karen Buckley as Leader, with Councillor Richard Redcliffe taking the post of Deputy Leader. The new committee structure for Fylde Council following the recent local elections was also confirmed.
