It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Lytham 1940s Wartime Weekend.
This extremely popular event that attracts visitors from all over the country was planned for it’s eleventh consecutive year on August 15th and 16th however, with the restrictions of the current Coronavirus pandemic it has become clear that it will not be possible to put together all the necessary pre-planning to hold the event in August. In order to successfully plan and hold the event we rely on resources from Local Authorities as well as Emergency Services, all of whom have the important job of keeping the people of our country as safe as possible at the moment.
Councillor Cheryl Little, Chair of the Tourism and Leisure Committee for Fylde Council said “In the current environment and with deep regret we have had to cancel the event. The key authorities need to focus on front line services – I hugely value how hard the committed team work behind the scenes to bring this fantastic event together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Lytham for 14th and 15th August 2021 for what I know will be an even extra special event.”
