Fylde Council is delighted to announce the latest recipients of Community Projects Fund grants, showcasing the continued success of the programme in supporting vital community initiatives across the borough.

The Community Projects Fund, which provides £20,000 annually to local voluntary, community and faith groups, has awarded grants totalling £5,270.44 to four fantastic community organisations that will support gardening, sport and youth development.

Recent grant awards include:

  • Mythop Road Allotments Association (£2,000): Funding for new cordless gardening power tools to replace equipment that has reached the end of its lifespan, ensuring volunteers can continue maintaining their thriving allotments, grass areas, hedges and trees for the community to enjoy.
  • United Youth Alliance (£1,000): Awarded to create education toolkit packs for their What About the Boys conference, providing youth workers, teachers, practitioners and trusted adults with essential resources to deliver impactful sessions supporting young people.
  • Lytham Juniors Football (£1,979.88): Grant for new equipment, giving both boys and girls in the younger age groups better resources for matches and training sessions.
  • 2nd Kirkham (St Michael’s) Scout Group (£290.56): Funding for PE, sports and games equipment, helping children stay healthy, active and reach their full potential through engaging indoor and outdoor activities.

Councillor Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, said: “From nurturing green spaces to developing young people through sport and education, each organisation plays a vital role in strengthening our communities. We’re delighted to support their fantastic work.”

The fund operates across two tiers, offering grants between £300 and £2,000 for larger initiatives and up to £300 for smaller projects. Local groups interested in applying can find information here.
