St Annes shoppers are being urged to get their loyalty cards stamped and handed in before the final draw of the town’s Shop Local scheme – and be in with a chance of winning up to £150 in high street vouchers.
Funded through Fylde’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Shop Local scheme has been running since 2023 and has championed over 250 independent businesses across Kirkham, Lytham, Ansdell and St Annes – as well as supporting residents to discover and enjoy their local high streets. Across 30 draws in all three towns, 30 local businesses have generously sponsored prizes, and a remarkable £8,250 in Shop Local vouchers has been distributed over the scheme’s lifetime, putting real money back into the high street.
While St Annes does not currently have an established business group to take the scheme forward once UKSPF support ends, the town’s high street remains very much a priority. Fylde Council and St Annes Town Council continue to work in close partnership on a range of business support initiatives, including monthly footfall and vacancy rate monitoring, Pub Watch and Shop Watch. St Annes Town Council has also recently expanded its grant scheme to include local businesses – full details can be found here.
With that in mind, there’s still everything to play for before the St Annes scheme closes. The final draw – generously sponsored by George Cox & Sons – will take place at the end of May, so there’s still time to fill your card and drop it in at Margaret’s Florist before the deadline. Fylde Council would like to thank George Cox and all 30 sponsoring businesses whose support has made the scheme such a success. Winners will have until Monday 31 August to spend their vouchers.
From June 2026, the Shop Local schemes in Lytham and Kirkham will continue under the ownership of Lytham Business Partnership and Kirkham Business Group respectively – and there is plenty to look forward to in St Annes too. The popular Fylde Fest event returns to St Annes Square on Saturday 28 March, and from April 2026, a new series of monthly markets will bring a vibrant, community feel to the heart of the town centre in partnership with Crafty Vintage.
Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council, said: “Shop Local has delivered real commercial value for our high streets, and I’m proud of the commitment shown by independent businesses across Fylde. Their sponsorship, their energy and their willingness to get involved have been central to the scheme’s success, helping to drive footfall and keep spend local.
“As we approach the final St Annes draw, I’d encourage shoppers to complete their cards and hand them in at Margaret’s Florist before the end of May. It’s a final opportunity to support our local traders and be in with a chance of winning.”
Suzanne Taylor, Chair of Lytham Business Partnership, said: “The Lytham Business Partnership is aiming to take the Lytham Loyalty scheme from strength to strength in the coming months and widen its reach even further amongst the businesses, locals and visitors.
“It is essentially a great way to say thank you to locals and visitors for supporting the independent high street.”
Heidi Hopkinson, Chair of Kirkham Business Group, added: “Schemes like this are so important for towns like Kirkham. They remind people of the value of shopping local – not just for convenience, but for community.
“Every stamp represents real support for independent businesses, and together that keeps our high street alive and thriving.”
