Gardening enthusiasts and eco-conscious residents across Fylde can now secure their subscription for the Council’s Garden Waste Collection Service for 2026/27, with subscriptions now open for another year of convenient garden waste recycling.
The service, which transforms garden clippings and lawn cuttings into compost rather than landfill waste, continues to offer fantastic value at just £39 per bin for 25 collections throughout the year – working out at only £1.56 per collection. With thousands of households already embracing this green initiative each year, the service has become an essential part of keeping Fylde’s gardens pristine while protecting our local environment.
Councillor Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Customer and Operational Services, said: “Our Garden Waste Service continues to be incredibly popular with residents who appreciate both the convenience and the environmental benefits. At less than the price of a coffee per collection, it’s a brilliant way for our community to keep their gardens looking beautiful while doing their bit for nature. We’re delighted to offer this excellent value service for another year.
“Signing up has never been easier thanks to our new digital waste portal, where residents can secure their 2026/27 subscription in just minutes. The portal allows residents to manage their garden waste subscription, check collection dates, add additional bins and even manage up to three properties from one account – perfect for helping elderly relatives or neighbours.”
The green wheeled bins make recycling garden waste effortless, with fortnightly collections running throughout the year, except for the Christmas and New Year period when the service is suspended. Everything from grass cuttings to hedge trimmings can go straight into the bin, where it begins its journey to becoming nutrient-rich compost that helps gardens across Lancashire flourish.
Residents can secure their subscription quickly and easily online at www.fylde.gov.uk/wasteportal, with collections beginning in April.
