Residents across Fylde will soon experience quieter, cleaner streets as the Council’s brand-new electric vans begin serving local communities, marking a fantastic milestone in creating a greener environment for everyone.
The two Nissan electric vehicles have arrived and are ready to transform how essential services are delivered across the borough. These zero-emission vans will enable our Community Enforcement team to complete their daily rounds without producing harmful exhaust fumes or contributing to noise pollution in residential areas.
This exciting delivery represents a £47,102.50 investment in cleaner air for our communities, with charging points installed at the Town Hall. The project has been funded through the Council’s Carbon Neutral Vehicles programme and existing fleet replacement budget.
Councillor Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Customer and Operational Services, said: “It’s brilliant to see these electric vans ready for action on Fylde’s streets. Every journey they make means cleaner air for our children to breathe, quieter neighbourhoods for residents to enjoy and real progress in protecting our local environment. Our teams are excited to be driving these modern vehicles, knowing they’re making a positive difference to the communities they serve every single day.”
The electric vans will help save approximately 8 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually while maintaining the high-quality services residents expect and deserve.
