With Christmas coming, Fylde Council are once again working alongside local partners to give vulnerable families peace of mind and help the festive period a little more special for children across Fylde.

Sadly, we know that this will be a tough Christmas for local families with the financial impact of the rise in the cost of living continuing to cause an unprecedented challenge for thousands of the most disadvantaged low-income families and individuals across the Fylde region.

We are expecting the number of people requesting support from Fylde Kids Christmas to be greater this year, and are therefore asking individuals, businesses and organisations to donate new unwrapped presents suitable for boys and girls aged between 2 to 16 years old. All presents donated will be allocated to vulnerable families to ensure every child in the Fylde borough receives a Christmas present this year.

Cllr Chris Dixon, Fylde Council Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, said: “The residents of Fylde have time and again shown themselves to be a warm and generous community, whether opening their homes to people fleeing violence in Ukraine, giving their time and food to local foodbanks, or continuing to support the Fylde Kids Christmas programme. I would encourage anyone in a position to do so to embrace the spirit of the season and donate what they can to make Christmas magical for a Fylde child this year.”

This year’s drop off points are at the following locations:

  • St Annes – Fylde Council Town Hall, St Annes Road West
  • Kirkham – Fylde Sports & Education Centre and Mill Farm Stadium
  • Lytham – Fylde Rugby Club, The Queens Hotel, Lytham House, Apex Cycleworks, Thompson & Hardwick Optometrists, No 4 The Salon
  • Freckleton – The Ship at Freckleton
  • Weeton – The Eagle at Weeton.

The final collection day will be Friday 8 December 2023 for presents to be distributed week commencing Monday 18 December 2023.
