Stanner Bank car park at Fairhaven Lake has reopened to the public, and the council are offering free parking here for a period of time.
The car park has had an upgrade and is now controlled by a barrier system which will remain upright during the free parking period.
Customers will normally press a button on the entrance terminal and a ticket will be issued. The customer can then find a parking place and go off to explore the area. When they are ready to leave, they will need to go to one of the two payment stations on the car park, present their ticket to be validated and pay the relevant fee. Card and cash payments will be accepted, and change is given. The ticket is then retrieved and on driving to the exit is presented to the exit terminal.
The normal charging period for the car park is between 9am and 6pm. Parking is free after 6pm though tickets still need to be validated at the payment machine.
Councillor Roger Small, Chair of the Operational Management Committee said: “Welcome back to Stanner Bank and Fairhaven, our jewel of the Fylde coast. We understand it has been a long wait, but I know that when you visit you will be amazed by the views. As we welcome you back, we are offering free car parking for a short period. So please come along and enjoy.”
