Hundreds of families created unforgettable memories in Lytham yesterday as the town centre transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland for the fourth annual Fylde Ice Festival, with Valentine’s Day romance meeting half-term family fun in spectacular style.

The free event, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, brought the community together on Saturday 14 February as Clifton Square and the surrounding area showcased stunning ice sculptures crafted by the talented team at Glacial Art Ice Sculptors. Children’s excitement filled the air as they explored the ice sculpture trail, hunting for hidden treasures throughout Lytham’s charming streets while competing for fantastic prizes including a day out at Fairhaven Adventure Golf.

The festival atmosphere reached magical heights when the Snow Sisters appeared in Clifton Square, delighting young visitors and creating perfect photo opportunities for families celebrating the first day of half-term.

Councillor Jayne Nixon, Lead Member for Tourism, Leisure and Culture, said: “It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying our Ice Festival in Lytham. Events like this bring our communities together and showcase what a fantastic place Fylde is to live and visit. The ice sculptures were truly spectacular, and the smiles on children’s faces said it all.”

The council extends its thanks to Glacial Art Ice Sculptors for their incredible craftsmanship and continued support in making this beloved annual celebration such a success.

Mark your calendars now – the next Ice Festival heads to Kirkham on Saturday 13 February 2027!
