Fairhaven Lake voted number 1 spot for picnics!

Last week Fairhaven Lake was voted by the public as top spot for a picnic in Lancashire.

The lake is situated between Lytham and St Annes, and is an extremely popular destination which offers a choice of boat rides, bird watching, nature walks, sporting activity including tennis, bowling and crazy golf.

There is a formal picnic area, with benches, as well as the green to sit on, and it is extremely popular on those hot summer days.

Councillor Cheryl Little, Chair of the Tourism and Leisure Committee for Fylde Council Said: “Picnics are usually on everyone’s to-do list for the summer season. Not only are they great ways to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends, you can also enjoy your environment and this is true of Fairhaven Lake and a wonderful accolade for the area.”

Currently undergoing redevelopment, there are big plans for the future with Fylde Council securing successful Heritage Lottery Funding in December 2018. This will lead to significant improvements and developments in the future, and you can keep up to date with this by following their Facebook and twitter pages.
