Fylde Council is delighted to again be providing the Department for Education funded HAF programme this Easter school holiday from the 2nd to 12th of April.

Holiday club places in Fylde are available free to school aged children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.

There are also some places available for secondary aged HAF eligible children. Please check the events from the Targeted Youth Service to find out about the HAF activities in your area.

There are lots of fun filled camps this Easter in Fylde, offering a wide range of activities including sports, crafts, games, dance, arts and fun group activities with a tasty meal provided each day.

If you have an eligible child who would like to attend a HAF club or activity, you can obtain a HAF booking code from your child’s school. Each code allows children to attend four sessions free of charge with any of the participating camps over the Easter holidays.

A message to parents – please can we ask you for your help.

We hope that your child (children) is able to attend and enjoy the HAF sessions that you have booked for them. However, if they cannot attend, for whatever reason, please would you let the club know as soon as possible.

This will allow us to offer their places to children on the waitlist.

Club overview

CrossFit Blackpool will be delivering The Department for Education Award Winning Project – The Strong Girl Squad HAF Programme, to engage girls (Years 7-12) with strength and conditioning, building healthy relationships with food and their bodies, and offering them the opportunity to meet inspirational members of their local community. Our project leads are qualified strength and conditioning coaches with many years’ experience of coaching young people in both weightlifting and high intensity interval training. The programme introduces and instructs the participants in a fun, safe and effective exercise routine consisting of weightlifting, bodyweight movements, squats, presses, sprints, and other cardio intensive exercises. On arrival a snack e.g. tea and toast will be offered and a lunch will be provided.

Music, making and carnival with Bob Heath. (2 days. People can come to 1 or both.) Meet new people, make things and create rhythm and sounds. Bob Heath is a Carnival and Visual Artist and Musician. He paints pictures, plays saxophone, guitar and keyboard and makes amazing things. In 2014, he set up Cacophany Arkestra, who perform at carnivals and other events.

Spend one day working with professional Dancer and Choreographer, Rebecca Holden. Meet new people, learn new moves and perform together at the end of the workshop. Rebecca is a qualified Dance Teacher. She has performed all over the
world and created competition pieces which have been toured throughout the UK.
