Supporting Fylde residents through financial hardship

The Crisis & Resilience Fund (CRF) provides support for Fylde residents who are experiencing financial hardship or who may be at risk of falling into crisis.
This new national fund replaces the Household Support Fund and brings together several forms of crisis assistance into one coordinated programme. It is designed not only to help people in emergencies, but also to strengthen long‑term financial resilience across our communities.

What the fund can help with

Support may be available for essential living costs, including:

  • Food and household essentials
  • Gas, electricity and water bills
  • Emergency financial assistance following a sudden change in circumstances
  • Housing‑related support, including help with home conditions or winter warmth
  • Support for vulnerable households who may be at risk of crisis

Resilience Hubs in Fylde

As part of the CRF, a network of Resilience Hubs is being developed across Lancashire, including here in Fylde.
These hubs bring together local services to ensure residents can access help early and locally.

Hubs may offer:

  • Benefits, budgeting and income‑maximisation advice
  • Access to food support and essential items
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Help with digital skills, employment pathways and community connections
  • Signposting to voluntary, community and faith‑sector services

This joined‑up approach aims to prevent repeat crises by strengthening long‑term financial stability.

Who can apply

The fund is available to Fylde residents who:

  • Are experiencing financial difficulty, or
  • Are at risk of crisis due to rising living costs or unexpected life events

Each application is assessed individually to ensure support is targeted to those most in need.

Working with partners

Fylde Borough Council works closely with Lancashire County Council, voluntary and community groups, health services and local partners to ensure support is:

  • Easy to access
  • Coordinated and consistent
  • Focused on long‑term wellbeing and resilience

This partnership approach ensures that whichever service residents contact first, they can be quickly connected to the right support.
