The council has carried out a community governance review of the whole of its area under part 4 of the Local Government and Housing Act 2007. This notice is the statutory notification of the extent to which the council has decided to give effect to the recommendations of the review, which is required to be published by section 96 of the act.

The council has accepted all of the recommendations of the review. The  council considers that the creation of new parish councils in Ansdell and Lytham will strengthen and enhance community governance in the presently unparished areas of the borough and that the minor boundary changes made in other parts of the borough will tie the boundaries in question more strongly to ground detail and remove some anomalies.
