- The NSPCC on 0808 8005 000
The Prevent Strategy
‘Prevent’ is a multi-agency safeguarding programme run in every local authority in England and Wales. It is a part of the overall counter terrorism strategy – CONTEST. Prevent is about early intervention to protect vulnerable people from being drawn into becoming radicalised or suspected of committing terrorist-related activity and addresses all types of extremism. For local authorities our key role is to support vulnerable individuals and safeguard them from harming themselves or others.
