Fylde Councils vision is ‘for Fylde to be a place where people choose to live, work and raise a family, retire and feel safe, visit and want to return’, which is laid out in the Councils Corporate Plan for 2024-28. Fylde Council is committed to providing a safe and caring community, including working with partners to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB). Fylde Council recognises that ASB can have a significant impact on quality of life. If left unresolved it can have a lasting impact on the people involved, other people living in the area, and the environment. Fylde Council work in partnership with other agencies including the police to tackle ASB, improve community safety and reduce crime.

Anti-social behaviour is any aggressive, intimidating or destructive activity that impacts another person’s quality of life. This might include:

  • Persistent verbal abuse or threats
  • Assault or physical harassment
  • Racial harassment
  • Homophobic harassment
  • Graffiti or damage to property
  • Vandalism

Persistent anti-social behaviour can cause significant alarm, harassment and stress. Fylde’s Community Safety Partnership believes that everyone who lives, works or visits Fylde has a basic right to enjoy peace and quiet in their own home, to feel safe and secure and not to have to suffer or tolerate the antisocial activities of others.

  • You do not have to put up with anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood
  • We are there to help you if you are a victim
  • We will provide support to anyone who wants to report anti-social behaviour but is concerned about reprisals

Anyone affected by or witnessing ASB can report it to Fylde Council by:

  • Online Reporting: Via the Fylde Council website’s ASB reporting form.
  • Telephone: Calling the Council’s customer service telephone number – 01253 658658
  • Email: Sending details to the designated ASB email address: community.enforcement@fylde.gov.uk
  • In-Person: Visiting Council offices to report ASB directly

You can also report ASB to Lancashire Constabulary who are responsible for dealing with anti-social behaviour in public areas such as rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour, underage drinking, drug and substance misuse, dogs which are dangerously or out of control, vandalism, verbal abuse, hate incidents, harassment and vehicle nuisance. You can report ASB by calling 101 or by reporting online here. If the anti-social behaviour puts you, your family or your property in immediate danger you should always ring 999

When you report ASB, the community safety team will:

  • Carry out more detailed investigations
  • Identify potential legal or other remedies to problems;
  • Support victims and witnesses of ASB
  • Work with other agencies to prevent and reduce ASB.

To achieve the most effective and appropriate solutions to ASB, we work in partnership with the police and other agencies. By working together we can co-ordinate initiatives to reduce and tackle ASB, and stop it from happening, making a real difference to the quality of life for everyone living in the Fylde area.

Any person dissatisfied with the outcome following a report of ASB may be eligible to request for their case to be reviewed, providing that their case meets the community trigger threshold.
