Walkers across Fylde are being invited to lace up their boots for the biggest River Ribble Ramble yet, as the much-loved charity walk returns on Sunday 1 November.
Now in its seventh year, the popular event will once again see families, friends and keen walkers take on the scenic route, starting from the event lawn at Fairhaven and heading along the coastal path to Lytham Windmill and back, raising funds for BBC Children in Need along the way. Everyone who takes part will also be entered into a raffle for the chance to win an extra-large Pudsey Bear teddy!
The ramble was co-founded by Councillor Tommy Threlfall, Fylde Council’s Lead Member for Environment, and BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Graham Liver, whose partnership has helped the event grow into a real highlight of the Fylde coast calendar.
Councillor Tommy Threlfall said: “Graham and I started the River Ribble Ramble seven years ago, and to see it grow into this bigger and better event fills me with real pride. It’s not just a walk, it’s a chance for our community to come together and raise vital funds for such an important cause. I’d encourage everyone, whether you’ve walked with us before or are joining for the first time, to come along, get involved and be in with a chance of winning in this year’s raffle.”
Residents of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in on Sunday 1 November, with the walk taking place rain or shine. Fylde Council would like to thank everyone who continues to support the River Ribble Ramble and looks forward to welcoming even more walkers to this year’s bigger and better event.
