Residents are invited to follow along as Fylde Council’s Head of Tourism, Tim Dixon, takes to the footpaths and country lanes of rural Fylde next Thursday in a new walking challenge exploring the district’s hidden interior.
Tim will set off from Moss Side Station at 10am on Thursday 28 May, passing through Wrea Green, Kirkham, Wesham, Mowbreck, Medlar and Greenhalgh before finishing at The Eagle in Weeton. The route follows marked footpaths and country lanes, taking in the villages and landscapes that sit at the heart of the borough, away from the coastal and rural trail covered during his 41-mile border walk last September.
Local walks guide and author, Steve Garrill, will join Tim later in the afternoon. Members of the public, walking groups and community organisations are welcome to join for part or all of the route.
A spokesperson for Fylde Council said: “Tim’s walks bring Fylde’s communities and countryside to life in a way that reaches residents and visitors alike. This is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on the quieter corners of our borough and the footpaths on our doorstep.”
Tim will share images throughout the day via Discover Fylde on Facebook and Instagram.
