Families across Fylde can look forward to a fantastic Christmas break as the much-loved Holiday Activities and Food programme returns this winter, offering free holiday club places packed with exciting activities.

This brilliant initiative, funded by the Department of Education, ensures eligible school-aged children from Reception to Year 11 won’t miss out on holiday fun. Whether your child loves getting creative with arts and crafts, burning energy through sports, exploring outdoor adventures or making new friend through games, there’s something to spark every imagination. Every session includes a nutritious hot lunch plus plenty of healthy snacks and fresh fruit to keep energy levels high throughout the day.

The programme has grown even bigger this year, with more clubs and activities than ever before from local businesses and organisations including AFC Fylde Community Foundation, Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, Streetwise and Lowther Pavilion. Secondary-aged children can also access limited places through the Lancashire Targeted Youth Service, ensuring older children aren’t left out of the festive fun.

Councillor Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, commented: “Our HAF programme transforms what could be a challenging time for families into weeks filled with laughter, learning and great food. We’re proud to yet again be able to deliver a Christmas holiday where every eligible child in Fylde can thrive, play and enjoy themselves without financial worry for their families.”

Eligible families will receive their HAF vouchers on Monday 24 November when the booking system opens. With places filling fast, families are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred activities.

Parents who believe they qualify but have yet to receive a voucher should contact their child’s school directly.
