Families across Fylde can give their Christmas trees a meaningful second life this Christmas while supporting vital hospice care in our community.

From today, residents can register for Trinity Hospice’s popular Christmas Tree Collection Service, a brilliant way to clear away the festive season while helping both our environment and a much-loved local charity.

The free collection service, running from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 January 2026, transforms your finished Christmas tree into something wonderful. Your tree could become nutrient-rich mulch for Trinity’s allotment, help stabilise our precious sand dunes through Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s restoration programme, or be sustainably recycled locally. Last year’s fantastic community response saw 2,000 trees recycled and £24,300 raised for specialist hospice care – a tremendous achievement that shows the generosity of our residents.

Councillor Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Operational Management, said: “This wonderful partnership gives our residents an effortless way to dispose of their Christmas trees responsibly while supporting Trinity Hospice’s invaluable work in our community. It’s a perfect example of how small actions by many people create significant positive impact.”

To book your collection, visit Trinity Hospice’s website before 9pm on Monday 5 January and register your FY or PR4 address. Trees should be placed outside by 8am on Friday 9 January. While the service is free, a suggested donation of £10 is warmly welcomed to support Trinity’s compassionate care for local families, although any donation however small is gratefully received.

This initiative perfectly complements Fylde’s commitment to increasing recycling rates and protecting our beautiful natural environment.

Residents can also take real Christmas trees to local drop-off points to be planted in our dunes and regenerate our natural flood defences. Simply drop at either North Beach Car Park in St Annes or William Segar Hodson Park in Kirkham between Friday 2 January and Monday 12 January 2026.

Alternatively, residents subscribed to our Garden Waste Collection Service can chop up their real tree and place it in their green bin, ensuring the lid is fully closed. Lytham Household Waste Recycling Centre will also be accepting trees. Find opening hours here.
