Residents looking to learn about healthy eating, get moving and make new friends in a relaxed and supportive environment can meet the newly rebranded Change team at Fylde Fest on Saturday 25 October. The Council’s popular free programme will showcase its exciting new look complete with a smoothie bike and the chance to win a free bicycle.

The Change programme, which has already transformed lives across the borough, is getting a vibrant new identity designed to kickstart moments that change habits. With a green play button at the heart of its new logo, the rebrand symbolises the programme’s mission to help residents press play on healthier, happier lives. Through friendly group sessions about nutrition and lifestyle combined with fun physical activities including walking, badminton, pétanque and chair-based exercises, welcoming spaces are created where everyone feels supported regardless of their fitness level or ability.

Participants have discovered activities they never imagined trying, built lasting friendships and found their confidence growing in the relaxed, non-judgemental sessions. One resident who had never played sports before said: “The team kept encouraging me and showing me what to do. My confidence has grown so much – we’re learning together and having fun.” Another shared: “I used to feel so lonely and bored, but now I’m meeting people and discovering new skills. I feel incredibly lucky to get all this for free.”

Councillor Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, said: “The Change programme exemplifies our commitment to supporting connected, confident communities across Fylde. These testimonials highlight the remarkable difference this free service makes – from tackling isolation to helping residents discover healthy habits they genuinely enjoy. I encourage everyone to visit our team at Fylde Fest, try the smoothie bike and find out what Change could mean for them.”
