Street Trading in Fylde

The Licensing Team at Fylde Council is responsible for managing street trading across the borough.

What is Street Trading?

Street trading involves selling, offering for sale, or displaying items (including live animals) in a public area. A “street” includes:

  • Roads and footpaths
  • Beaches
  • Any other area the public can access without paying
  • This may include some private driveways

Street Trading Policy

Fylde Council has a Street Trading Policy, which outlines areas where street trading is not allowed. These are called Prohibited Streets, and no street trading consents will be granted for these locations.

You can view the full policy and the list of prohibited streets here.

Consent Streets – How to Apply

In designated Consent Streets, you may apply for permission to trade by emailing licensing@fylde.gov.uk

When applying, we recommend including:

  • A business plan
  • Photos or visuals of the proposed trading unit

If you plan to trade on a public road or highway, you must first obtain a Letter of Non-Disapproval from the Highways Authority before submitting your application.
