Householders are expected to dispose of any household waste that is not put out for the council’s regular collection service. If waste is left to build up on private land, it can attract pests or create potential health risks, so it’s important that such waste is cleared appropriately by the property owner.
Please note that the Council does not have the authority to require residents to remove items that are simply unsightly but not hazardous, such as bricks, timber, old furniture, plastic toys, or scrap metal. Similarly, we cannot insist that residents cut grass, tidy their gardens, or undertake maintenance to improve the appearance of their property.
If you’re concerned about what you believe to be an excessive accumulation of waste on private land, please get in touch with our Environmental Protection Team for advice or to report the issue by emailing environmentalprotection@fylde.gov.uk.
