All local planning authorities are required to prepare a ‘Statement of Community Involvement’ (SCI). The SCI sets out what consultation will take place with members of the public, statutory consultees and other stakeholders, including the manner of consultation, during the process of determining planning applications, and in the formulation of planning policy documents. On 15 June 2016 Fylde’s Development Management Committee agreed to formally adopt the current SCI which was subject to a rigorous consultation the previous year.
The 2015 SCI replaces the previous SCI which was adopted in September 2011, as it was considered to be out of date due to numerous changes to planning legislation since that period.
