If you wish to trace your family history there are many ways we can help you do this.

Local Historical Archives

Your local library may hold archived records, but most are held at the Record Office (external link)  in Preston. Some records are held at the larger libraries such as Burnley, Chorley and Lancaster.

All Lancashire County Council libraries (external link) provide free access to the Ancestry website. (external link)

Birth and Death Certificates

Duplicate birth and death certificates are available through Lancashire County Council.

Lytham Park Cemetary Records

Lytham Park Cemetery opened on the 9th April 1927. The Crematorium, situated within the Cemetery, opened on 10th March 1958. Records of all burials and cremation’s are that have taken place at Lytham Park are kept in the main registers.

If you wish to find details of a person resting at Lytham Park we require the persons name and the date of death. At quiet times we may be able to give this information by telephone but it is strongly recommended that requests are made by email or in writing. If several names are requested these enquiries will only be accepted in written form.

Copies of the main burial and cremation indices are now available on line. Please see below.

We do not keep records of funerals that took place in other Cemeteries or Churchyards.

Many churches keep records of burials in their own churchyards and some records are kept in the main library. Contact details for churches in the Diocese of Blackburn, which covers the Fylde Coast, can be found using the link to the right. There is also a link to the County Records Office.
