Works to install a new Adventure Play area at Fairhaven Lake and Gardens began earlier this week.

The play area complements the wider Fairhaven National Lottery Heritage Fund Redevelopment project, it has been match funded with £30,000 from a successful Lancashire Environmental Fund application that was submitted by the Friends of Fairhaven Lake.

Councillor Cheryl Little, Chair of the Tourism and Leisure Committee at Fylde Council said “In the midst of winter, there’s nothing more enjoyable than planning family trips and activities – giving the whole family something to look forward to and this new children’s adventure park in fantastic surroundings will be a great addition to the Lake for residents and visitors”

Alan Pedder, Chair of the Friends of Fairhaven Lake added’ We are delighted to have worked in partnership and considerably contributed to the development of this exciting new facility for children and families to enjoy at our lovely lake’.

Following an in-depth tender process just before Christmas, the contract was awarded to Playdale after the evaluation panel agreed they demonstrated quality design, value for money and an ability to complement the existing park environment.

The new play area will consist of 42 new play activities and can accommodate over 112 children playing at any one time.

The installation team will be on site week commencing 17th February 2020 with a planned completion date of 31st March 2020.
