Fylde Council has established a discretionary hardship scheme that may help reduce the Council Tax liability for anyone who has started self-employment from April 5th 2019 (within the last 12 months) and who is NOT already in receipt of the Council Tax Reduction benefit or other Government assistance schemes in response to Coronavirus.

If you fall within this category, then you may be eligible for a reduction on your Council Tax up to a maximum of two months, equivalent to £325, and limited to council tax band D. Applications can only be made using the online form below between 1st May and 5th June, with all applications assessed after the closing date.  The fund is limited, if it is oversubscribed it will be allocated proportionally between all eligible applicants. Please note that this fund is capped at earnings of £2500 per month.

Once you have applied you will receive an acknowledgement via email. The team will contact you if further information is required, or when a decision has been made on your application.

Given the current pressure on services, the process may take longer than usual.
